(PEPA) Political Studies Programme (one year)

The Political Studies Programme which takes place over one academic year focuses on students who wish to follow a more personalised program, and offers a more flexible approach than that of the CEP. No diploma is awarded; however, a transcript with marks and credits obtained is given to each student and their university at the end of the academic period.

Course

The PEPA offers a combination of modules (4 ECTS credits) and one or two conférences de méthode (seminars) (10 ECTS credits each) adding up to a total of between 32 and 60 credits according to the student’s choices and the approval of his university.

Registration for conférences de méthode (depending on places available) is done for both semesters; no changes are possible between the first and second semesters.

Students who decide to enrol for two conférences de méthode will follow:
 either two conférences de méthode spécialisées (CMS) chosen from any 2nd or 4th year seminar EXCEPT Culture générale (General Knowledge) and Informatique (Computer science) ;
 or one conférence de méthode spécialisée and a second seminar chosen from Français Langue Etrangère (French as a foreign language), Civilisation Française (French civilisation), Relations Internationales Contemporaines or a 2nd or 4th year language classes (English, German, Spanish, Italian).
10 ECTS credits each over the year (5 per semester),

Assessment

The modules (cours magistraux) are usually assessed by an oral examination. The conférences de méthode are continually assessed throughout the academic year.
Students must get at least 10 out of 20 in order to pass each exam and conférence de méthode and be awarded with the corresponding ECTS credits.

Exams will take place according to the calendar available at the start of each academic year.
Students who fail the first exam session (1st and 2nd semesters) are able to take resits (2ième session) in June. The calendar for resits is defined as soon as the exam results are published (late May, early June). The marks awarded in the resits replace the first ones.
